G A L E

A short platform experience about using the wind to guide your way.

Originally created for the Isle of Games 002 (see isleofgames.is) exhibition on the theme of "The Tempest", the player is making their way through a pitch black world, with nothing but the wind to guide their path.

The installation version was for two people to cooperate, one using a joystick to control the character, the other using rotating lava rock + button to control the wind. This version is just controlled using the keyboard.

I made a short gameplay of this game. while I was playing I found this game pretty (the sound, the ambience of the game) but sometimes the camera is too fast that the player get left behind. but other than that nice game!

p.s game starts at 20:50

Imagine playing a platformer in complete darkness, where the only source of light is the torch above you and the stylistic motions of the wind. It took me some time to learn how to control the wind, but when I did, it became such an immersive experience! Wow!

PS: I stepped away at the very beginning of the game and missed the explanation of the keys to control the wind. I wish the explanation would stay fixed until the player had read them all :)
